Junior spiders.

No I haven't fall on the face of the earth just yet I'm still here. Sorry I haven't been blogging a lot I haven't really been up to it lately with being sick and in hospital but I thought as I had time I would write a quick post. So today Mrs L and three transition year students when to DCU for the junior spider web awards and well they won the award for the best class blog. So I wanted to congratulate them on my blog. Take a look at the Ty blog here . Its amazing and leave a comment congratulating them for all of their hard work and efforts since the start of the year. I don't know when I will get the chance to write again but hopefully I will get another chance before the end of the week.

So long farewell

Well the musical is over! :( I am not happy at all. It was such a great experience, this week has been so crazy on the go all the time. Really late nights and then early morning's for school. Monday night was basically our first proper dress rehearsal, it went really well :) Then Tuesday went better. Then on Wednesday and Thursday we got a standing ovation! It was amazing! All the hard work that we put into it, really paid off. Those last 12 weeks have been spectacular. From the first day the lads coming up to the school, to S.F being told he is as threatening as a Marsh mellow, to the torch scene, kiss scene orchestra practicing with us, the stress over the dancing that is in the musical, to the stress of putting it on stage. It was worth it all. Thank you to Ms.W and Ms.McG for doing this, they put so much time and effort into getting it perfect it all paid off :)) We all became a unit/family in the space of 12 weeks. Fare play to those who had to travel a distance to get here

Hope!

So as some of you many know I am in hospital and that's why Ginger has been updating he blog for me because I don't get the chance to use a computer very often but seeing as how tonight I got the chance I thought i would write a quick post just to check in. So im doing good I guess.... not much to tell you all. Im missing school and my friends and stuff but they keep sending me in letters and food so im doing ok. I love the food guys so keep it coming... lol. I have been kind of keeping up with school work and things here but its not going to well but I will catch up eventually!!!! One thing I do know is that I need a name badge because between nurses doctors and teachers they keep calling me all sorts of different names! The point of this post was because I met this girls here who is getting discharged next week so first things is I wish her all the best when she gets to go home next week and I have to say that I will be lonley in our biologly classes now but I guess I will

I have been working on the promotional team and we have been working on a blog and just two weeks ago we reached 10,000 page views. working on this musical has been an amazing experience and I am so glad that I got involved. Yeah it had been a lot of hard work, A lot of hours spent in school after school and on Saturdays and there has been a lot of photo taking and blogging but it really has been a great experience a tiring experience but a great one. The opening night is on the 5th of December and we have all been working towards this night and I cant wait to see the show on the first night after it has all been put together. Im looking forward to seeing everyone's hard work finally pay off. it is going to be a great show because we have amazing actors, amazing directors,

The dentist!

Image
Do you like going to the dentist? Because i know that I hate going to the dentist.... i am terrified of going to the dentist ever since i was in second year when something went wrong and I ended up being in a huge amount of pain! Yeah so i don’t like going to the dentist... i get nervous anxious and restless when I have to go and when i have to sit in the chair i get even worse and i guess it doesn’t help that I have to get an operation to fix my jaw which means more time spent going to the dentist!!!!!!!!! But it’s not all that bad i guess... it’s really just the tools and the moulds and well the biggest part that I hate is the DRILL!!!!!!!!! Even the sound of it sends shivers down my spine i hate it so much and i never want it near my mouth ever again!!!!!!!!! How do you feel about going to the dentist? Are you like me a nervous wreck or is it just another one of those things that you just do and don’t even think about it? Whats your biggest fear? F

Weird things we find out about ourselves :)

Well today.. So much to talk about. Hahahaha not really. Anyway, Kellie, Noel and I on the way home from rehearsals were showing weird things we can do with our hands and stuff, Noel can bend his thumb in weird ways (kind of gross, but cool at the same time :) ) , I can bend my fingers back really far my hand looks like an L  (looks pretty weird) and Kellie with her elbows and how they look when the inside of your arm is pointing out (if that makes any sense!). Just a random thing that came up when we were dropping Noel off at the train station after rehearsals today. Unlike last time we had the weirdest conversation. At least it wasn't bad this time, hopefully we didn't scare Noel away! :P On that note of rehearsals; Well, the journey is coming to a close end. One week Monday and its all over! :( Its so nice though having something to look forward to, after this I don't know what I'll do! :/ We worked with orchestra today, it sounds and looks amazing! I cannot w

The person I admire.

Image
I haven’t been writing very much lately and well that’s because I don’t have all that much to write about and I have been so busy with school and everything but now I have a lot of things to write about and on the top of my list is the person that I admire.   Well for me it’s more the people that I admire because I don’t just admire one I admire two and those two people are the most important people in my life and while they might not be here with me they are still here in spirit.  The two people that I admire are my mam and my granddad. I’ll start with my mam. She was the most amazing mother anybody could ever wish for and I know people say that about their mothers all the time but mine was something different she was something special. She was a one in a kind and since she died my world has not been the same at all. The reasons as to why I admire are: She was the best mother I could have wished for She was strong. She was intelligent. She always did the right thing; H

Scary stuff.

Last week I had a pretty scary experience. Well you see I have asthma and I have had it now for two or three years but it never really affected me and if it did it only affected me when I was doing sports but not last week. Last week I had my first asthma attack and as you can guess form the title I was pretty scared. It happened after training when I was in school at a meeting about the school trip to Poland and things just slowly started to get bad with my breathing and to be honest if it wasn’t for my dad and my friends and the two teachers that wanted until I felt well enough to leave the school I would have been lost. So thanks to everybody who was there with me last week. Anyway I managed to make it home but things took another turn for the worse and an ambulance to be called and no this was not my first time in an ambulance I was in one a few years ago when I fell down a man hole at an athletics competition and had to go to hospital but back to the topic. So yeah I’m not goi

In the wrong!

Ok so here's the deal...... the other week I was searching on the on internet looking for different things to blog about and different blogs that would be interesting to read. I did fine one and I have to say I really do like this one, its fun, informative and you can really relate to it if you are a teenager. The post that I had here in the first place was from this blog . Yeah I took this post form that blog and to be honest I have now realised that I went about things all the wrong way and I wish I had never taken the post from the blog in the first place. I am writing this post to try and fix my wrong doing of taking a post from someone else blog and putting it up on my blog and not giving them enough credit. I should not have done that and for that I am very sorry. Weather I was to give them credit or not I should not have taken someone else blog post and passed it off as mine! So I apologize greatly to the writer of High School Humor Blog  and I would like to say that I

Blog Action Day.

Last year in school I took part in blog action day and this year I am doing it again. I signed up on Tuesday and found out that I would have to write a blog post about food. Last year the blog post that we had to write was about water. So I didn't really know what to write about food so this post is going to be really bad and stupid. I  decided that I would write the post on my favorite food. My favourite food has to be chicken. I don’t really eat that much meat but I eat a lot of chicken. In my house my dad gets fed up of buying chicken and my brother thinks that I eat chicken too much. But now there are lots of different things that you can do with chicken so I don’t really understand how you could get fed up with eating chicken. You can do some many different things with chicken that the possibilities are endless. So I dont see how somebody could get fed up with eating chicken all the time. Yeah so I didn't really know what to write about food so I wrote about chicken,

Scouts. :)

Image
Every Monday night I go to scouts for about an hour and a half. Yeah you’re wondering why I might be telling you this..... Well I do have a reason. I have been involved in scouts for a number of years helping out and last year I decided to join the venture scouts. Since then I have become a lot more involved in the beaver scouts. I have helped out for a while but I never really did much but no with the help of Kellie and Robbie when my dad (he is meant to be the section leader.) feels like pitching in I act as a leader. When I am old enough I plan to become a leader but I have to be 18 for that so another little while to go but I will get there eventually.  So the main reason I am writing this post is to show how important it is to get involved in the community. I love going to scouts every Monday.... I get to have fun and the beavers get to have fun and the best part is I can act like an idiot and nobody will care! We do badge work, play games, sing songs well that’s a bit more

The sound of St. Wolstans.

Image
This year St Wolstans is performing a musical “the sound of music.” I called this post the sound of St Wolstan’s because Louise came up with the great title for a  blog that we are  doing to help promote the show. This is going to be a pretty short post at the moment but I will have longer ones about it soon. I really dont know that much about it all i really know is that we are putting on a show! I am helping out with the promotion and the blogging :) I will have more information on it soon hopefully but for now here is a song from the sound of music :)

Workers rights.

Image
Last week I had  a talk for L.C.V.P. The talk was about trade unions, workers rights and working conditions. It was a really interesting talk and I learned a lot of new tings that were really shocking. We were shown videos about working conditions in countries like Asia and places like that. Children from the ages of five are made to work in factories where they are not allowed to talk, have breaks, use the bathrooms or drink clean water. They would work for 16 hours straight without breaks five to six days a week and would only make around 1 euro each week. I didn't realise how bad working conditions were in other countries and I was shocked when I saw the video  of young children working in a Nike factory. We were thought about other things to do with worker rights, trade unions, activism and other things but what I took most from the talk was the horrible and unsafe working conditions in other countries. This was one of the videos that we were shown highlighting the exploita

Some of my different types of plasters :)

Siobhán do you have a plaster?

So I have just spent my weekend gong from Celbridge up to Larch hill. I went up on Friday for the start of the 2011 county camp. I decided not to stay over so that I would be able to get my homework done and because I didn’t really want to stay over. I headed up to Larch Hill on Friday around five where I gathered up all of the beavers from 19 th Kildare salesains and we started to try and figure out how to put up a tent. I was so glad to find out that I only had to set up one tenet and that was my dad’s so if that blew away it was ok..... The beaver’s tents were all ready set up. Me and Adam one of the beavers put up my dad’s tent, and it only took us about half an hour..... I thought that was pretty good. After that we didn’t do much and I soon went home after fighting with Adam about why I wasn’t staying over and after I got covered in grass with it stuck in pockets, my hood and down my top. So I went home and got a good night’s sleep and most of my homework done. I’m not the b

Suicide Prevention day.

Today is suicide prevention day and well I decided to write a blog post about it. To be honest I’m going to make this a very personal post because well suicide is something that I have dealt with in my life and something such as suicide prevention means a lot to me. I have written a lot of very personal post and well that’s because I am trying to share my story and help people who are going through hard times. I mean if things that I write show people that there is hope and even if you think things aren’t going to get any better they will. I have gone through some hard times and I still kind of am and most of the time I find it hard to see that there is hope and things will get better but with the help of some very close friends I know that things will get better even if I don’t think that things will my friends assure me that they will. So today is suicide prevention day and well I attempted suicide in 2010 two days before my junior cert started. Many people thought that I did it

Back to training I go.

Today I was my first night back to athletics in three months. I missed it so much. I would have gone back during the summer but I was an idiot and hurt my foot by missing a step going into my garden and ending up in a cast two weeks and crutches for another week but I slowly got better until I jumped off a bin. I know what you’re thinking why the hell would a person jump of a bin well it’s because I got locked out and me and emer wanted to go into my back garden to play with Lilo. I got over the gate onto the bin and that’s where I had trouble getting down and so I decided to jump and well I landed in the hospital that night. Get it, I jumped and landed in the hospital, yeah it’s a bad joke I know I’m tired and I’m in fifth year and struggling to find time to blog so I’m trying to catch up not but I really should be staring on my L.C.V.P homework..... Maybe I’ll just do it in the morning. We haven’t been told when it is due yet but I don’t have that L.C.V.P teacher again until Friday s

It might not be T.Y but it can still be fun!

Image
The one thing about T.Y that I loved the most was that it was fun and well my friends who went straight into fifth year pretty much said that it wasn't fun. When I finished T.Y that was the one thing I would be dreading was weather or not it was going to be boring and working all the time or if we were going to be having some classes where we got to have fun. The girls even made us this poster after our first day of fifth year...... But fifth year isn’t all that bad, I know its still the first week and we haven’t had much homework and I have no doubt that we will be getting more soon but to be honest I’m enjoying fifth year. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I love the subjects that I am doing. I love home ec and biology and L.C.V.P or L.V.C.P how Aoife spells it is great too. The only one subject that I am dreading is drama but we only have that once a week on a Wednesday morning so it will be out of the way in no time and once I get started in it I will be grand

It’s crazy how time goes by so fast. This time last year I was on holidays in sunny Spain with my granddad and my brother Paul. Many people think a holiday in Spain would be great but not this holiday, this holiday was one that I will never be able to forget. While in Spain nearing the end of our holiday my granddad got very ill, he was taken into hospital where he passed away because of a heart attack. During the whole experience of being in a hospital where the doctors don’t speak English and that I was on my own with my brother I was terrified. I was scared that my granddad was going to die but I was also scared because my granddad was blind and half deaf so I was scared for him. I tried to stay positive during the whole thing but it was very hard and in the end the outcome was very much a negative one. While we were in Spain part of me thought because he is such a strong man he will pull through this. I mean he went into a diabetic coma once and came out of that stronge

I tried hiding her in my case so I could bring her with me but Paul wouldn't let me :(  Shes now gone to stay with Tom and her brother Mossy for the week. In the morning Im heading off to Boston and Im not really looking forward to the long plane journey but I think I will manage even with my crutches..... :/ I will try and post from my iPod if I have internet but im not promising anything.  I hope the rest of the summer holidays are great for everybody!

This photo was taken from when we had a Harry Potter day and we all dressed up to watch all of tuhe movies... I gave up after film five.

I lost a mother but gained a guardian angel.

It hard to believe how fast the time goes by when you lose someone close to you. Six years is a long time but it all went by so fast, it still feels like only yesterday when I watched God take my mother away from us. I guess when my mam died it was my first real experience with death, I was only a baby when my granny died so I didn’t know her but I did grow up hearing stores about her and visiting her grave I might not have got a chance to know her or get close to her but I feel that in some ways I did know her and I was close to her. Today is my mam’s 6 year anniversary and I’m still trying to come to terms with how long it has been. My mam died after she lost the battle with lung cancer. She was a strong and brave person and she never let being sick get the better of her she fought until the very last moment. She always had a smile on her face no matter what was happening. Whenever I would go into the hospital to see her while she was sick that was the one thing I would look forward
