Experiments.

In science today we were doing an experiment. The experiment was to do with find the PH of things and trying to make different colours with the chemicals that we had to use. MS O C said that it was a competition to see who could make all of the colours first. I and Jessica got off to a bit of a rocky start as we didn’t really understand what we were meant to be doing. But we figured it out pretty quickly well Jessica figured it out anyway. Once we knew what we were doing things would get better would you think so well they didn’t...

First we couldn’t work the Pipette and when we got it to work the acid would only come out in drops so we decided to get a new one. But once again it would only let the liquid come out in slow small drops. But we decided that we wouldn’t bother to change it this time. So we were able to make the colour red because that only needed acid. Then once we had that colour done we started to work on a different colour.

I thought that we were going to make the colour blue next but we didn’t we were making the colour violet. So after a short discussion about what colour we were making we started to make violet. We knew that this one was a base so all we needed was to use the sodium hydroxide. Simple right well not for use. When we started to use the sodium hydroxide it wasn’t going violet like it was meant to it went red. We couldn’t figure out why this was happening so we kept letting more of the sodium hydroxide go into the beaker for a few minutes.
Then Jessica thought that we might have got two beakers of acid instead of one of each and she was right. So once we got some of the sodium hydroxide we managed to make a navy colour.

Then it was time to finish up and I was quiet happy then. It was somewhat of a success because we managed to make to colours so it wasn’t a complete disaster.
