Mini company workshop...... 3


So today was our first day back to school after our week of work experience and it is good to be back. We set off form school at nine o'clock and headed to Naas. We arrived a bit late but everything was ok once we got there. Today we talked about product that we are making and the different things that people are doing. Orla seemed very impressed with our sample magazine tat we had printed off to show her. She passed it around the room and the whole group felt very proud that people really liked our magazine. Our magazine is comming along very well. We have sent it off to the printer and it is in the process of being printed. We are getting 2500 copies printed. The mini company is very good and we have even made a profit.

Today we also learned about writing up our business report and what we have to put into it. We were also told about how the judges will mark it and that it doesn't need to be very long. After we were given a break we were then shown a video of people actining with new people. It showed us all about how to communicate right and how important a first impression is to a business.

Today was a good day and I am really enjoying mini company. We have worked very hard on the magazine and some people in our group have been amazing when it comes to getting the magazine ready for printing.

An unexpected week

Last week I went back to work and to say I was scared would be an understatement! On Sunday night I prepared myself as much as I could for what I anticipated to be one of the worst weeks I would experience in work. I expected to be riddled with anxiety to the point where I wouldn’t be able to go to work- I was not. I expected to feel pure panic as I drove to work each day, bordering on a full-blown panic attack- I did not. I expected to cry, each day over something minor, something small, something that wouldn’t have mattered- I did not. I expected to obsess over everything; put more rituals in place to ensure everything was perfect-I did not. Shame

A week ago I found myself explaining to my therapist how I wanted to end my life, how I was so desperate for my mind to shut off and how I was ready to end it all, in that moment I felt distressed. A week ago I found myself ringing a close friend asking him to collect me from the local health centre because I had to go to hospital and couldn’t trust myself to be left alone, in that moment I felt ashamed.
